One of my dumber moves...

Actually, this looks a whole lot more impressive than it actually was...it was only about a ten foot drop, but it made a neat picture, didn't it? It was a stupid thing to do...I risked a broken ankle in the middle of the desert and while on a motorcycle trip. But it made for a cool picture!

This was taken during one of my ventures to Monument Valley in the Arizona desert, a beautiful area of the country that everyone should try to visit.

The mesas in the background are very hard volcanic rock and the surrounding softer limestone has eroded over millions of years leaving these incredibly beautiful formations.

The four corners area, where Utah, Colorado, New Mexico, and Arizona meet is one of my favorite areas to tour by motorcycle. Just awesome.

Pure paradise. This is Havasu Falls in the Grand Canyon. It's accessible only by hiking fourteen miles through the desert following the narrow Havasu Canyon. At the end of the trail are three phenomenal waterfalls, each higher and more spectacular than the first. The pools of water at the base of the falls are created when dissolved limestone slows down and settles to the bottom, eventually forming these awesome saucers of water. This is one of the most peaceful places I have ever visited. It sure left a lifelong impression on me. If you follow Havasu Canyon trail another six miles, you'll reach the bottom of the Grand Canyon and the Colorado River.
